All of us have come to work and volunteer in nonprofits because we have ideals about changing the world. Whatever those ideals are, use your vote to further them!
The California Association of Nonprofits (CalNonprofits for short) has kicked off a new campaign for nonprofits across California called Vote With Your Mission.
The goal of this campaign is to have 100% of California nonprofit staff and volunteers vote in the June and November elections. There are six components to the campaign; to sign onto the campaign you must agree to do just two or more of them. Examples: 1) Have voter registration materials available at all your locations; 2) If you have a document called something like “Board Member Responsibilities,” add the following: “Board members will vote in every election while they are on the board.”
What we mean: all of us have come to work and volunteer in nonprofits because we have ideals about changing the world. Whatever those ideals are, use your vote to further them.
